Greetings! God bless you all!
My name is Lucymar García Famania. To the glory of God, I studied at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. I also had the opportunity to represent the institution and my country in track and field and cross country.
Today, I serve as a full-time missionary in the ministry of Athletes In Action in Puerto Rico. I am currently the director of the ministry, by the grace of God.
I am very passionate about sports, but most of all about serving my Lord by evangelizing, discipling athletes, and developing leaders who influence others in the faith.
When I was a college athlete, I lived a long time feeling empty, sad, and hopeless, following the things of the world to fill my emptiness. Despite the accomplishments I made in sports, this also failed to satisfy me. It wasn’t until I participated in an Athletes In Action camp in 2017 that I understood what God’s grace was, and it was the moment when I gave my whole life to Jesus. I was instantly filled and experienced God’s great love and forgiveness in such a unique and special way. I never thought this would happen in my life! That is why my great desire since then is that every athlete in the universities of Puerto Rico and athletes around the world experience this full and abundant life that I have lived and that can only be found in Jesus.
I want you to be part of this great adventure and reach more for Christ! I want you to help me continue to carry the message of the gospel that heals, saves, and transforms lives, and the commission to make disciples of all nations. I long with you to one day see Puerto Rico and the world transformed by the good news of Jesus!
